ABOUT

Vérité (French for "truth") is a multi-faceted project of Auroville, the visionary international township in South India, founded in 1968 on the principles of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother's Integral Yoga.

Vérité offers a unique setting for individuals and groups who seek living, working examples of sustainable, health-promoting approaches to life on our precious planet.

Since 1985, Vérité has focused on environmental awareness, fostering wellness, building collaborative networks and karma yoga (spiritual practice-in-action) while continually developing as a center for integral learning, in service to Auroville and its guests.

Vérité’s green, 8-acre campus features accommodations for individual stays and group retreats, an organic garden, kitchen, and vegan cafe, and facilities for classes, workshops, therapies, yoga & more.

Our Vision

Dedicated to co-creating an ecosystem that allows individuals and groups to realize their highest potential, Vérité supports active participation in the planetary shift to humanity’s conscious collaboration in co-evolution towards a unified reality.

Vérité aims to be a living demonstration of indomitable optimism and the transformation in human behavior and nature that engenders a positive future for all life on earth.

Our Mission

Vérité is a meeting ground for people who want to cultivate their capacities to manifest positive change.

Vérité supports the development of individuals and groups to become effective "change agents", equipped with the inspiration and capacities needed to create a world in which humanity and nature, spirit and matter will co-evolve in harmony.

Vérité’s campus is an intentional setting for learning and for the cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary exchanges of paradigms and practices that help people meet the challenges of life in the 21st century.

The Vérité Community

In Vérité, the word "community" has come to mean much more than a group of people who live and/or work together. On just the human level, the Vérité community includes residents, staff, Aurovilians, guests, volunteers, students, neighbors, suppliers, advisors and supporters-- all those who participate both locally and remotely in the life of the project.

Our Workers

Vérité owes a major debt of gratitude to our workers, most of whom live in the surrounding bioregion and come six or seven days a week to help build and run the project. Many of our workers have been part of Vérité for decades, and we recognize that, without their dedication and hard work, Vérité and Auroville would simply not exist (in fact, the Mother called the villagers "the first Aurovilians")!
