Practice Assertiveness

Use clear and firm language, avoiding overly apologetic tones.

Example: "I won’t be able to take this on, but thank you for considering me."


Respond with Empathy and Gratitude

Show appreciation for the opportunity or request before declining.

Example: "Thank you for thinking of me for this project."

Offer Alternatives (If Possible)

Suggest another person or a later time when you might be available.
